How To Use Kodak Disposable Camera
This is a summary of my YouTube Video Review, you can sentry the whole piece linked at the bottom of the blog postal service.
In previous posts & videos, we talked about disposable cameras, how these are affordable, like shooting fish in a barrel to use and a great style to starting time your photography journey.
Just not every disposable photographic camera is easy to open up upward and reuse, and then today we'll talk about choosing the right camera, and we'll through the process of reloading a disposable camera.
Choose The Camera Advisedly Before You Kickoff
Although most disposable cameras have a like build, similar quality and offer similar okay results, not all of these types of cameras are identical. And this becomes actually apparent when you try to practice something that you are not supposed to, like opening one upward, unloading the film scroll and reloading it with a brand new film roll.
The Fujifilm QuickSnap 400
Some cameras, similar the Fujifilm QuickSnap 400 are a chip hard to open, at least for casual users that don't have experience with motion picture, and don't want to waste matter time, which makes it a lot more complicated to reload, especially if you intend to do that somewhat frequently.
When choosing a disposable camera, people commonly choose i because of the bodily film that's in information technology, not because of the physical shape or artful of this piece of plastic. Even so, if you already know that you will be reloading the photographic camera and reusing information technology often, so, unfortunately, y'all volition have to consider what camera is just elementary to open up up and reload.
And for some of you, people starting out or inexperienced with film, the ease of operation and reloading might even be more important than the actual film roll that you are using. So go on that in mind.
The Kodak FunSaver
This dispensable camera comes preloaded with Kodak gold 800 35mm picture show and has the aforementioned number of exposures equally the Fujifilm QuickSnap 400. But the moving picture sensitivity is higher, ISO 800 makes it a bit better for indoor shooting.
But what makes this camera smashing, is how unproblematic it is to open upward, unload the used film, and reload with a brand new scroll.
For the virtually part, it's fairly simple and y'all don't really demand fancy tools. However, you do demand to go on in listen that this process is normally done in a photograph lab, or what people normally refer to as a Darkroom.
And so you lot need to brand sure you lot accept access to a DIY darkroom, this could be a film-irresolute bag or anything along those lines. This unabridged process has to exist completed inside that purse, or darkroom. Otherwise, you will expose and ruin the pic.
You besides need a make new film gyre, and some black electrical tape to seal the light leaks, more than on this afterwards. And last but not least, any sort of soft prying tool, like a plastic card, in this example, I'm using a Tim Horton'due south gift carte du jour, annihilation along those lines works.
Update: There is a faster way to reload the camera that does not require a dark room or film changing handbag, however, information technology does require noesis of the camera. So go along reading this and and then spring to the other method, yous can bank check it out here:
Reloading The Disposable Camera
The first stride is to remove the branding sticker, as the sticker helps keep the photographic camera sealed. Outset peeling it from the bottom, until you remove the entire back sticker. You lot can go along the front sticker if you'd similar for whatever reason, it's upwards to you.
Take your prying tool of choice, and start opening the tabs on both sides, once you lot've opened both of the sides, and so move to the i at the bottom.
Don't force it as well hard, these are just plastic tabs, and don't require much force. To protect the modest locking tab located at the very superlative of the camera we'll accept to open the cameras from the bottom, similar this:
In one case nosotros remove the backside and so we reveal the interior of the camera, the completed picture curl is located on the right side, you can get ahead and remove it.
From hither on, it gets a bit complicated to describe in images, and so I highly recommend you watch the YouTube video and follow the steps on how to exercise information technology, correct here:
Besides, every bit I mentioned before, hither's the second post with a faster style to practise it, but it's more complicated:
